Audio clip from interview with Mr. Jim McGann. Interview conducted on 14th March 2022 by Dr. Martin Walsh.
Jim McGann lived in Mungret County Limerick and attended St. Munchin’s College as a day student. He joined the Limerick Student University Committee (LSPUC) a short time after it was founded in Easter 1966. When Gerry O'Malley – the first chair of the LSPUC - left Limerick to go to college at UCC, Jim McGann was asked to take over as chairman of the committee in the autumn of 1966. McGann chaired the student campaign for just over three-years. In early 1970 he left Ireland, first to live in the Hague and later he moved to Sweden where he worked in the film industry and has remained there for the past fifty-years.
