Dear Sergeant Allen, When you were here this morning to collect some of my father's books which I wished to give to the Garda Library in his memory, we discovered that he had endorsed on his bound volumes of the Garda review a dedication to the Garda Club. I remember him mentioning that he wanted to give the volumes to the force but I never realised that he had written anything in the books. I feel sure that if the Garda Library and Museum had been founded at the time that he would have donated them there. I think he picked the Garda Club as being the only repository then available. I am quite happy that in giving the books to the Garda Library I am doing what my father would have done. Please mention the matter to Mr. Garvey and ask what he thinks.
