Dr. John Logan was born in Leitrim in 1948. He completed his primary school education in Leitrim and his secondary school education at the Franciscan College Gormanston County Meath. He completed his degree at UCD in 1970. From 1970 to 1974 he taught at Carrigallen Vocational School, Leitrim. In 1974 he joined the National College of Physical Education/Thomond College of Education where he taught the History of Education. He retired from the University of Limerick in 2011.
